About Aarhus Table Tennis Club

Aarhus BordTennis Klub – directly translated: Aarhus Table Tennis Club - is one of the strongest club in the western part of Denmark.

Aarhus is Denmarks second largest city with approximately 275.000 inhabitants. It is situated in Jutland, and is a popular city known for its university, the charming town center and the beautiful surroundings close to the sea and forests.

In the season 2011/2012 Aarhus BTK plays in the 2. division for men which is the third best league in Denmark. Besides Aarhus BTK has a couple of the strongest female players.

The training is headed by Jesper "Stef" Steffensen, Henrik "Lunder" Jespersen, Flemming Sunn og Henrik Sørensen, all very experienced coaches and trainers. 

The western part of the Danish national table tennis center is located in Aarhus and Aarhus BTK has a close cooperation with the center as almost all Aarhus BTK players are attending the center.

Aarhus BTK was established in 2007 as cooperation between VRI and Stavtrup, two clubs which through ages have created some of the best young table tennis players in Denmark.

Aarhus BTK´ vision is to give the best players in the Aarhus region the best opportunities to exercise their sport. This includes the best training facilities as well as an environment which gives focus to the player’s preparation and attitude to both training and competition.

At the same time Aarhus BTK aims to cooperate with and support the smaller clubs in the aera in order to coordinate the activities and to facilitate the transition from the smaller club to the elite environment.

Within the last year most of the Aarhus players have attended training camps and competitions in Belgium, China, Germany and Sweeden.
